I have just published my first book, a memoir, titled “Got Proof! My Genealogical Journey Through the Use of Documentation”.
As a family history researcher, I have been asked on many occasions what got me started looking into my family history in Louisiana. What were some of my most interesting discoveries found along the way, and when was I going to write a book? As these questions came up I started to see a pattern with my responses. The challenge for me in writing this first book was narrowing down the focus to one compelling discovery. Once I did that, I had to write a story that would allow readers to see how my research and discoveries came about, as well as to learn about some of the results that came from my genealogical journey.

Got my book, "Got Proof" a wonderful and rich account of history told by one man on a lonely journey armed with a vast amount of treasured documents to prove his family's history. We all have a history, no doubt and I truly believe we should all aspire to learn "who we are" by taking a similar journey into the past where our ancestors have left breadcrumbs as evidence of their (our) value and contribution to the American society.
ReplyDeleteMichael Nolden Henderson has not only written about his family history, he has provided nuggets in "Got Proof" that can guide others in such a simplistic manner, following his lead. After all, he is so well deserving of being "the first" at many challenges and accomplishments. This heroic journey into the past is truly a page turning history lesson that was not written in my school history books.
